this.... this is a lot of pills.

when i first watched the episode, i assumed those were empty bottles stolas was saving for some reason. but the caption as octavia moves them specifically reads "pills rattling", so i guess they're all full.

the thing is. "sinsmas" canonically takes place 2 months after "the full moon". and in "the full moon"?

stolas ran out of pills.

in "mastermind", one month post "the full moon", we don't really see what stolas has been up to. but we do see he graduated from absinthe (pretty strong liquor) to beelzejuice (a supposedly even stronger liquor).

and apparently, at some point during that month, he restocked his pills. and then some.

we already saw stolas being inconsistent about when he takes them and just how much he takes. i won't be surprised if during that month he'd been popping them like the candy they apparently are.

i'm still not sure if those pills are actually helping him or if they were just given to him to numb him to how shitty his life is, but either way, there is very strong evidence he'd been abusing them, and immediately going cold turkey after that? i'm surprised his meltdown wasn't even worse.
